Yovan Zamora
Xavier Yovan Zamora was born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas. He got his start dancing at the age of 12 at Dancentre of Edinburg. At 14, his true passion for folklorico was discovered. From then on his life revolved around folklorico practices and competitions. Having graduated from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley with a Bachelor’s degree of Fine Arts in Dance Performance with a concentration in Mexican Folk Dance, Xavier has had the opportunity to share the stage with many big names such as Aida Cuevas, Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlan, and la Universidad Veracruzana. He’s also had the opportunity to study under distinguished maestros such as Jairo Garcia, Alejandra Guzman Barrenechea, Yahir Padilla, and Alfredo Cuadras Montoya. In 2022, Yovan moved to NYC to join Ballet Nepantla.
